We set off for Sequioa National Park on Friday. The car ride is always a toss-up when a toddler is involved, and our 4.5 hour car trip (which unfortunately would take us thru LA traffic) was no different. Friday started out like every other weekday...a early walk with Tami, Ashton and Ryan, then some hardcore play (this day, in the pool). Then we hurried to get the final preparations complete, pick up a rental car, come home, eat lunch, load the car, gas up, pick up Adam...then hit the road by 1 pm. Sam was so tired, that on the 3 minute drive from the gast station to the University, Sam fell fast asleep! That made the first 2 hours go by quickly :) The next 1.5 hours also went well, as evidenced by the photos, then we stopped at a cute little rustic bear themed restuarant for supper (Sam wanted pancakes like at Denny's house...we hit a Denny's back in April when Grampy and Nannie Dyker were here). The remainder of the drive was pretty good. Sam was excited for an adventure, although agruably more excited to get out of the car :)
This video was actually from the drive home, but we played "I Spy" on the way up as well...
PS-As you can imagine, the 400ish photos that I've narrowed down to will take a while to post, so I'll have new photos and videos to come everyday this week :)
