Joshua Tree NP #1...The Mohave Desert...

Ahhh, JT NP...We started at the northern end of the park so we could hit the Jelly Donut (a hole in the wall that makes amazing cinnamin rolls) and since it's the most impressive part (in my mind)...Air quality was amazingly moderate, so we were excited to see what we could see...

Time for a break from driving, which always means a picnic lunch :) Sam REALLY needed to stretch his legs and his mind before he napped, so it was the perfect excuse to pull over...Sam LOVED the sand and the sticks and the climbing with Mikie (he came up with that name himself)...it was just one year ago that we made our first trip to Joshua Tree NP...when Sam needed help walking and NOW HE'S ROCK CLIMBING (sort of...if you've got extra time, check out the archeived photos for Feb 2007)
