Feb 13th, Leaving Las Vegas...

You know, like the Sheryl Crow song...anyway, as we were leaving to head home, I got the song stuck in my head, but anyway, here's what we saw of LV...

Sam was loving all of the low flying airplanes (the airport is right in the city just a couple of blocks from the strip)...

So just as I was commenting about how sensible the city is to NOT plant, then water, grass...


I see this truck with grass growing around the back in patches so that you can touch and feel before desciding what type of grass you'd like to waste some precious water on...







There were outdoor escaladors everywhere!









So, as we're driving down the mountains there were signs for a "test break area" then a parking lot with tons of trucks with their hoods up. Then the signs for "6% grade for X miles" popped up. Then signs for "Runaway Truck Ramp in X miles" popped up...interesting, I thought. Then I see this off ramp made of layers of crushed rock with a big pile of rock at the end. In the case below, it was strategically placed up hill, but at the end of the first ramp that I saw (going to LV), at the end of the ramp was a HUGE drop-off!
