Feb 15th, Which way to the Beach? I mean, Banana stand...

After the Crystal Cathedral, we drove to Newport Beach...the fictional home of our favorite OC ("let's not call it that") disfunctional family...

It was crazy windy...check out Sam's hair!

I got Mike to take a pic of this...thinking how ironic (and maybe a tad presumptious)

This was the closest we could get to "the frozen banana stand" (a little research when we got home... http://the-op.com/ref/object.php?oid=72 confirmed that the banana shaped stand that we were searching out exists only in Bluth-land)

So, we leave feeling mildly disappointed that we failed to see anything featured in our fav tv show (Arrested Development, in case you couldn't guess from the afore mentioned references) and see some signs for Disney Land and something called Downtown Disney. We have ZERO interest in going to DL, but a quick drive through Downtown Disney would be cool...so we're getting closer, we're getting moderately excited, there's more and more signs with Disney on them and more and more people.

...until we're met with a gate. Refusing to support any business that charges ppl who just want to drive on the street, we did a quick U-y as I quote "You can't do a U-turn on your dreams!" (yup, from Arr. Dev.), so we U-y and I'm laughing so hard that there's tears coming down my cheeks, Mike was holding his stomach and Sam was going "ha, ha! ha, ha!" (he loves to laugh) and I miss my exit to the freeway. No biggie, until we realize that I've now go to go back and U-turn at the gate AGAIN! It was hularious...maybe you had to be there...

Just the freeway...

so the drive was relativley short (remember the Vegas day was 11 hrs in the car), but the last 30 miles took a full TWO HOURS!!! Traffic was CRAZY!
