Feb 1st, Sam's favorite things...this week :)

Sam was VERY talkative with Nannie on the phone today, answering lots of questions (mostly with " I don't know") and walking around with the phone wedge between his ear and his shoulder (which requires him sticking his arm straight out!). Dadda took this photo of our little chatter...

I was practicing with slower shutter speeds (something I don't get to do around Sam) and took these of some toys he plays with daily. We spend ALOT of time reading books and Zoo magazines each day. There's a couple of stories that he'll tell you what to say as soon as you turn the page (Good Night Sam and Baby Boo), there's some that he tells you the highlight of the story when he hands it to you (Three Little Pigs-which we modify so that the pigs warn the wolf about the hot, hot water in the hot, hot pot on the hot, hot fire with wood-using all of his favorite words...can you guess what his very favorite word is???), and with mostly every book he will tell you his favorite animal (llama, cat, puppy, emu, dingo, rhino, bongo, and gorilla were this weeks favs)or thing (moon, sun, vacuum, rain for this week) inside the book. Since we came back from Canada, he asks for various people that he played with. He likes to walk and hug his talking puppy (on loan from Bonnie and Vinnie) and his talking bear (a gift from our grumpy older friends) and to dance to their music. Sam can put the rings on his wooden ring toy and is getting better with putting the shapes (from Nana) into the right hole (he's got the circle down and most of the time the square and star). He likes his peek-a-boo animal pop-up toy from Nannie and names the animals as they pop up. He plays pretend with his wooden train from the Oakeys, he cooks it (alot) and talks to it and runs it around. Sam's had his animals and tractor set for a while, but he now stacking the toys and LOVES to drive around the tractor. Nana gave Sam a photo album to which we added the 2007 family group Christmas pictures, but he came across some pictures of his friends from home was was 'loving' them (which meant hugging/crushing/wrinkling/playing/cooking them), so I put them in a kiddie frame (plastic, not glass) for him to carry around (it's the blue frame).

Pots and pans and all things cookware are still near the top of his list, as is the airplane set that we got him for Christmas (but they don't go on the shelf :) )
