April 29th, Oh Sam!

Sam's been saying some surprising things lately.

Today, after discussing with Rachon some strategy for giving Shooter/Angel a bath in the washer, I decided to try to take it from Sam while he was napping and return it before he woke up. So, after he was solidly out, I snuck in and tried to loosen Sam the death grip head lock around poor Shooter's neck...only to wake Sam up! Fortunately, although he opened his eyes and started to sit up, once I left the room, he fell quickly back asleep. Ten minutes later, I bravely went back in and found Sam rolled over away from the bear! So easy :) An hour and a half later, when I was sneaking in to return the bear, I found Sam sitting up eyes half open, drinking some juice. He didn't seem to notice Shooter in my hand, so I subtly placed it down beside him. He seemed to immediately wake up, reaching for the bear and saying, "Angel, there you are!"

So, he found the pile of laundry (two loads worth) on my bed. He climbed up and through a huge tantrum when I started to fold some and put it away. Once he recovered and we sang about the little peguins (like the monkeys jumping on the bed), he was quiet for a moment. He put Shooter on top of the pile and proclaimed that he was a penguin. Then he looked at Shooter (who was noticibly whiter after this mornings park play when he was repeatedly dropped on the ground), then the laundry, then back at Shooter and he says, "Mom, did you give Shooter a bath in the washer?" (I should have mentioned earlier that he heard Rachon and I talking and told me that Shooter did NOT like to go in the washer.) I never did answer him...

Another funny Sam moment...at supper, Adam was praying and Sam interupts him, saying, "Dad, you have to open your eyes so you can watch for Super Letters." Super Letters are letters that randomly appear during PBS's Super Why.
