Welcome Acadia and Cole!!!

So many friends and family have been asking about Nancy and Scott and their twins, I decided to post a summary and pictures (along with a video Sam's online meeting of his new friends).

The story of the twins....born Jan 17th...

It started on January 15, 2009 when we went to the doctor's office for my check-up. The doctor checked me and I was 2-3 cm dilated! Thursday night and Friday during the day was pretty quiet, nothing was really happening. Scott came home from work with Owen and we decided to bring Owen to Grandma and Grandpa, just in case I went to labour in the middle of the night. So, we went to the grandparents for supper and left Owen there. We got home around 7:30 pm. So, I decided to watch a movie (27 dresses) and the contractions started around 8 pm. They were coming every 7-10 mins for awhile and then 5-7 mins and then back to 7-10 mins. Finally, they started to come every 3-5 mins. Scott tried to catch some sleep but that didn't last long as I told him around 11:30 pm that maybe we should go to the hospital. So, he jumped into the shower and I finished some things around the house. We got to the hospital around 12:30 am... At 4 am, they checked me again and I was still at 4-5 cm so they decided to break my water. I tried to catch some sleep but that wasn't happening. Around 5:30 am, I was 10 cm dilated and the baby's head was right there. So, the nurse were running around and paging people and they quickly moved me into the operating room. Scott had to change into scrubs before entering the room. They got me all set up and I was ready to deliver the babies! Cole came at 6:23 am and Acadia took a little longer...Acadia finally came at 6:41 am with the help of a vacumn on her head. That's why she had a big bruise on the top of her head. Scott was able to come home the first night to get a good night sleep and I was able to send the babies to the nursery to skip a feeding so I was able to get 5 hours of sleep straight. We were in the hospital until Tuesday afternoon and the twins were doing well, so they got to come home with us!!!

This is Cole, he was born first (at 6:23am) and weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces and was 18 inches long



Acadia was born at 6:41am and weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and was 18.5 inches long
