Sept 30th, A Video Update...
Sam still loves to use his imagination. Combining this with his nack for remembering entire family's names, Sam likes us to 'be' different people. If he and I are alone, we'll be Brendan Salsman and Mommy Michelle (then he'll do things that he saw Brendan do and tell me what Brendan likes and dislikes AND he'll go to school). If he's feeling cuddly, he'll be my baby Ryan (5 months old), my baby Zach (6 months old) or my baby Calvin (3 months old) and he tells me that I'm Tami, Katie or Amber, respectively. He used to be my baby Maximus (11 months old), but since we've returned to SoCal, he doesn't see Max as a baby anymore. When Adam is home, we'll be an entire family AND, if they're got an 'extra' kid or two, then his stuffed animals will be the younger or female child. Tops on his list these days are Anton, Amber, Emily and Calvin; Jered, Rachon and Max; Scott, Nancy and Owen; Dallas, Connie and Matthew...and tonight...Shawn, Jan, Nathan and baby Claire...
Sam's really getting into reciting little poems and singing songs AND loves action songs! He's a little confused though...he has a book about penquins slipping on the ice (Oh, that's not nice!), sliding by a tree (into the icy sea), etc...but he learned about 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed at the library last week...here's Sam's version...
Sam surprised me the other day by...pedelling his bike! It's so funny...it seemed like yesterday that Adam and I were worried that he couldn't throw a ball and now he throws balls very well (and can catch...sort of!)...I never thought he'd pedel his bike so soon! You can see near the end of the video that he still has trouble reaching the pedels :)

A great storyteller indeed!!! How wonderful!
Sam, I like your song about the monkeys and penquins. Wow! You sure are a good bike rider. When you tip your head back and laugh, you look just like Dada. Nana and Papa
