August 24th, Gardens and Marshes

After such a long time in the car yesterday (the zoo then Nana's house...5.5 hrs total), we needed to stretch our legs. And what better way, than a walk thru my favorite nature trails...right behind Grampy Gill's house! So, I called my best NB photography friend, Mel (she's been my bestfriend since grade 10!) and loaded Sam into the stroller for a nice long reconnect with nature...

But first, Sam got a good run around Grampy's yard! Grampy Gill showed his pride and joy his, well, pride and joy :) He demonstrated how to pick a carrot, washed it off, then gave Sam a taste. Sam pronounced the carrot, "not delicous," but Grampy wasn't offended...he just chuckled and called Sam a turkey :P

Uncle Mike was loading his car to head back to Wolfville from Mom's house in the morning. But, there's always time for a few photos...right?

There's no photos of Mel and I for a good reason! We got ready to go out in the woods on a lazy Saturday morning. I hadn't showered...I layered in bug dope instead, and had thrown on my favorited exercise pants and shirt. One thing I love about Mel is that we just get each other. No matter how long it's been since the last time we chatted, we just pick up like we just talked yesterday. Plus, her love of photography gives us endless conversation topics :)

Sam had a good time stirring the water and throwing rocks :)

Can you spot the blue haron in the following pictures?
