July 3rd, Welcome to Our New Home!

Okay, so it's not really our house yet, but it will be August 31st :) Here's a sneak peak. One thing that we loved is that we don't have to even paint, so when you come to visit, it'll look pretty similar! You can blow up any photo by clicking on it (I tried to organize the photos in a way that made sense).

It's a 1600 square foot bungelo/ranch style home with a finished basement (so 3200 sq. ft. living space) located in Lincoln, NB. The house is zoned for the Oromocto school district, which is important since my nephew's had a bad experience at the Lincoln Elementary School.

Our lot is just over an acre and is bordered by a quiet subdivision street, an even less busy street and the Trans Canada Trail behind and one neighbour.

There's 4 bedrooms upstairs. A good sized master with cheater door to the bathroom and a good closet, two large bedrooms that could house two kids each and a smaller nursary/office...

Here's the main bathroom with a garden tub with jets, a separate shower and a cheater door to the master...

The other half of the house, separated by a pocket door, is an open concept living room, dining room, kitchen area. It'll be perfect for watching Sam while I cook!

Out the patio door in the dining area is a small deck with a view of the backyard. You can see Sam's new swing set! Our property backs onto the Trans Canada Trail (aka the old railroad tracks turned into a walking trail). We can bike to a town park in about 10 mins...

Back in the house, between the garage entrance and the 'great room' is a hallway (with a big closet), the main floor laundry and half bath and the stairs to the basement...

So, you go down the stairs and enter into this living room with a high efficiency wood stove...

From the living room, you walk into this sort of wide hallway that'll be a great area for large toys! Off of this room is a storage area/cold room...

From the hallway room, you go through a set of french doors to a tv room...

Off of the hallway room is a hallway to the fifth bedroom that is plumbed for another bathroom...

The house has an air exchanger and a water purifier system...

Our realator was amazing. With his expertise, we found a house that will suit our family for many years to come.

Who knows, maybe we'll be sitting on this varanda in 50 years :)

We landed last Tuesday afternoon. Not much to report. Sat an hour and a half on the tar-mack due to an electrical problem that was eventually fixed. Not big deal, but it made our 4.5 hour flight a 6 hour flight...tough on a toddler...
