Mom and Wayne had their house warming party tonight. After my Grammie's passing, Mom and Wayne found a 1869 farm house, literally four farms down from from where my Mom and her brothers and sisters grew up. I've written before about the whole experience of my Gram's passing as being a HUGE lesson in timing...I firmly believe that her last breathe was chosen specially by our loving Heavenly Father before she was even born. I won't re-iterate the 'whys' now, but feel free to ask and I'll gladly tell you :)
Anyway, not even a week after Gram's passing, Sam and I went out to look at this house with Mom and Wayne. It was home. True, it needed some work, but the house was loving and skillfully maintained by my Gram's brother, an extremely talented carpenter, who stripped the house in the 70's right down to the 2x4's.
Mom and Wayne, Michelle, Mike, Uncle Alan, Uncle Glen and Uncle Ron have worked so hard to do the repairs and upgrades in the 3 weeks before this party. I won't get into all they did, the photos will do the talking :)
