Sept 18th, Welcome Oakey's!!!

Our dear friends, Jan, Shawn, Nathan and Claire, came for a weekend visit! We planned nothing, except to take tons of photos and let the kids play while we relaxed...and take photos :) The weekend still flew by, but we made some great memories...including Sam's first sleep over in his room! (Ashton slept over in California but Sam was too little to have him in his room.)

Ironically enough, we didn't take any photos in the first 2.5 hours, so we'll skip through dinner and an outdoor play in what Nathan called "Sam's playground."

Bath time! Claire went first, while the boys were playing outside. Thanks to some rain in the afternoon, they were sooooo dirty they went straight to the tub! (Jan took the first two)





Snack time!!! I've been making party mix in the slow cooker and the boys really liked it...





Adam and Shawn may have thought that Jan and I were going over board, but aside from a few gently teasing remarks, they let us have our fun...(Jan snapped this during the snack portion of our weekend photo shoot :) )...

Bed time... Yeah right!






After about 1.5 hours...just when we were about to give up and separate them!


Starting at 10pm, we watched Twilight, since Jan and Shawn had never seen it! It was a late night, but so worth it ;)

Finally, around 10pm, THEY SLEPT!!!


Saturday
The boys woke up around 7am...probably Sam woke up Nathan, since that's his normal wake up time and Nathan likes to sleep until 8am or later (how perfect is Nathan?!? BTW, Adam said we could keep Nathan anytime!).

How was the night, boys??? Oh, that good! Excellent!!!

How about your night, Claire? Very good!!!

She's just so sweet, I could eat her up!


The kids continued the play they started last night. Nathan really liked Sam's tractor tipping set (thanks again Patricia and Wyatt!)! (Jan took these photos.)




We snuck in an Oakey family photoshoot... :)





The kids and dads had a good play outside while Jan took these photos and I got lunch ready...






Neither boy napped, so Nathan and Shawn shared their love of games with Sam...





Meal time has been rough for Sam (so much commotion) but bribing him to take a bite and I'd tell him a dinosaur's name seemed to work well...(thanks again, Jan for catching a moment I didn't!)


Claire really loves stuffies and Sam's chair, Larry the Ladybug, was a huge hit! (Jan got this picture, as well...I think I was doing dishes)


Saturday night, we tried to go to church for 7pm while the Oakey's bathed and settled Claire, but after driving literally one minute, Sam's eyes started to flutter then shut. We dropped Adam at church then drove home and I put Sam in his bed for the night...he was so out of it! Claire was the next to bed, then Nathan went down at 8pm. We adults watched "the Code"...the guys pick about a jewelry heist...it was a good movie (no Twilight of course) and we were in bed around 10pm.
