We headed to the OC (yup, Orange County!) to Laguna Beach...what trip to California would be complete without seeing the Pacific Ocean? We had a great day and I think I speak for everyone, including Sam who went to bed 45 mins early despite the 2.5 hr nap on the way home, when I say that I'm pooped! The sun is so hot here! Adam missed a little bit of skin around his ankles when he applied his SPF 30 and wow is it red!!! My shins are a little toasted as well as the scalp at the part of my hair. Sam, thankfully, is as pale and pasty as he was this morning :-)

While posing for a great picture, a HUGE wave crashed up around me, almost knocking me (and Sam...eek) over! We were trying to get the photo portion of our beach trip out of the way before swimming...oh well!
Being wet is no excuse for not smiling for the camera!

Adam and Carl had a great time wave jumping...by the way the waves were huge! Cathy enjoyed the sun and visited with Sam and me while we were enjoying the shade :-)

Grampy is always good for an adventure! This time he took me on a walk down the beach...I liked it :-) I even helped him hold the umbrella...

Fun in the sun! Laguna beach was a pretty cool place...typical beach town with cutsie little shops lining the main street but with CRAZY homes built EVERYWHERE! Welcome to So Cal!
Nannie brought us a beach tent...it was perfect! Sam was out of the sun (besides his quick introduction to the Pacific Ocean) and we had a place to change :-)

Wow Erin, it's beautiful out there. Especially the dolphins so close to you guys, that's amazing! You must be getting excited for your trip home soon :-)
Looks like an awesome day! We went to a beach just north of Laguna many weekends last summer to swim (it was a state beach so much less populated on the summer weekends). It was a great way too cool off during the summer heat. Yesterday was mild compared to the summer!
Beautiful pictures, Erin! I am jealous of the sunny weather and the perfect beaches you have there but you made me feel like I was there with you! Great job! I can see the scrapbook page already... =)
