With the stroller loaded down with camera gear, baby gear, and our 25 lb baby, I hulled tail to the gardens (we were lazy this morning and left the house late-relatively speaking since we keep to no external schedule, just Sam's). After powering up a super steep hill, my quads cramped in a nice way (you know the way it feels when you've had a good work-out). Sadly, my favorite spots were under water (sprinklers), so we were left to explore the dirt that was an herb garden. Sam still had fun and I still took pictures :)
Sam poked his fingers in the little holes and asked (himself, presumably) 'in there?' and then he'd answer 'dirty' or 'leaves' or 'water'...
He practiced his balancing...
He told a joke...
to his new friend...(her grandparents didn't speak English but were quite pleased when I asked (with lots of hand gestures) if I could take her picture)...
I think that Sam and I can have fun just about anywhere :)
So, for the camera buffs out there...here's a trick from the Exposure Compensation book (thanks again Nancy!)...when you meter off of a primarily green area, it'll turn out too dark...
So, you take note of the aperture value and the shutter speed (in P, S or A mode) then go to M mode and dial in those values, then change the shutter speed until a -2/3 exposure is indicated...this was the first time I'd used that tip, but I think it worked :) (I believe the book calls it 'using Mr. Green Jeans')
