June 15th, Drool Monger

It's been a weird week...I couldn't believe that I hadn't posted all week (sorry Nannie!)...it's been really hot (like 40 C hot), so Sam and I have been hibranating. We've had some good games of chase through the tunnel/tent (pictured below). We've had some friends over and we've spent alot of quality family time (so nice).

I hate to type this, but since I don't hold to the tenants of kharma or luck, I will proudly type that Sam is following a schedule! (I hope you didn't fall out of your chair.) There were a few roughish days while we were figuring out Sam's natural schedule...but it was so worth it! Precious Samuel awakes between 8:09 and 8:14am with a huge smile and sweet little talk. He eats a good breakfast then we play hard until around 11:45ish...then its lunch then reading then nap time around 12:10. Sam sleeps for 2.5 hours then its quiet playtime for about half an hour then it's snack time then more hard playing or swimming then supper (that lasts 5;00 to 5:45ish...it turns out that Sam wasn't eating enough supper because we weren't offering enough over a long enough time) then a feirce playtime with Dadda then when he starts to get fussy Dadda and Sammo go for a walk outside then Sam gets a big snack of cereal then some quiet play then it's bed time around 8:00 to 8:30 pm. Pretty full day for such a little guy ;p

Sam is much more content now that we've figured him out (for this week!). Although he threw us a curve ball last night (yes that's the Sam you know and love)...he awoke after an hour of sleep very uncomfortable. After trying our best tricks, we concluded that he needed to be awake to do whatever he needed to do...he eventually filled his diaper which woke him up fully (of course) so it was 11:30pm before he fell asleep again. Then at 12:30 he awoke screaming at the top of his lungs...nothing would console him...eventually he calmed down and fell back asleep. The whole ordeal lasted about twenty minutes, but it seemed like forever! He slept well the rest of the night and woke up at 8:09. Adam got up with Sam (what a great husband!) so I got another 20 mins...and he really lost out on the deal...Sam had one bite of cereal then threw up...poor little guy and poor Dadda! Adam wasn't sure what was worse, throwing up that early or the fact that Sam splashed in it like it was a puddle!

After a rough start to the day, our day went well. Sam was in a great mood which makes for a great day in and of itself! Adam, although he went into work a bit late and was exhausted, made an amazing discovery! Yeah!

Enough typing...to sum it up: life is great (despite the heat) and we're excited for our company to come next week :)

So glad that Sam is finding a groove! So hard when they are unsettled.
